Metamorphosis Monday-Valentine's Tree

I'm joining Susan's Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps at the Porch this week.  I've been enjoying my little metamorphosis.

 February

I decided to leave the Christmas tree up in the dining room just for fun.  Since Christmas it has been through a few changes.

Baby Shower in January

Baby favors from Dollar Tree

Redecorated for Valentines

Almost all the decorations came from the Dollar Tree.  The baby shower and the Valentine's  tree cost less than $10 to decorate.

I used little favor bags, heart shaped lollipops and silk roses.  I removed the little diaper pins from the tussie mussies and added heart stickers instead.

I just love the glow of the tree at night when I sit to have a cup of  spiced tea.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Silver Sunday-Hearts and Silver

I have enjoyed Silver Sunday so much and want to thank Beth at Gypsy Fish for being such a wonderful hostess of such a fun blog party each week .  I'm excited she is continuing Silver Sunday once a month.   I think I've almost exhausted my pieces to share...so I went to Goodwill to see if I could find some new pieces and found this lovely candy dish for only $5.00.   For Valentines I filled it full of  sweetheart candy.

I did clean up a silver tray that belonged to my grandmother. Years ago she was friends with Hugh Downs the televison reporter and he gave her this as a gift..it is engraved to her on the bottom from Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Downs
New York, N. Y.

I filled it with  silvery heart shaped butter molds and some Sheffield grapefruit spoons.

I found a heart shaped cookie cutter in my collection and another larger silver tin heart mold.

Hope you enjoy your Sunday tomorrow...Super Bowl and Silver Sunday!

Wednesday Gratitude-Counting my Blessings

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join  Wednesday Gratitude with Heidi at Heart and Home as I believe we should be grateful for the all the blessings we have been given.  Heidi has a wonderful blog that I've been following since last year.

Heidi reminded me of how much I have to be thankful for like my  family,  friends, and faith.  Sometimes easily taken for granted until we get a reality check and someone get's sick or things aren't going well in our lives for whatever reason.

This week I'm grateful for a warm and safe home to share with my loved ones...and a warm fire...

with snuggled little ones.

Even with all the winter storms we have had, we haven't lost power once. I am thankful that my hubbie had wood delivered and bought a generator on sale a couple years ago just in case we ever needed it.  He is always prepared.

I am thankful for the beautiful view I enjoy outside of my  winter wonderland.

I'm so grateful  that I'm employed as a registered nurse and that my husband  has a new job that provides for us as well as gives us the opporutunity to give to others.

And finally I'm grateful that winter prepares us for the fulfillment of spring....

and my garden will return to give me joy!

I am reminded to count the blessings the Lord has given me and be grateful not only on Wednesdays but every day!

Tabletop Tuesday-Hurry Spring!

This weekend I redecorated my dining room side table to reflect a feeling of spring...I added yellow forsythias to a bird's nest arrangement and used my cloche with a sweet little bird and nest tucked inside as my centerpiece.

Yellow is such a happy and cheerful color to me and reminds me that daffodils are almost here!   My smaller cloche is on the left with a little bird feather, silver spoon, eggs and some acrons from Sonoma Valley tucked inside.

I also collect topiaries and these smaller trees were from Michael's.

A closer look at the robin's nest...

I'm just getting anxious for spring!

I'm joining Barb at Grits and Glamour for Tabletop Tuesday, make sure you check out all the pretty tables this week.
