I have enjoyed Silver Sunday so much and want to thank Beth at Gypsy Fish for being such a wonderful hostess of such a fun blog party each week . I'm excited she is continuing Silver Sunday once a month. I think I've almost exhausted my pieces to share...so I went to Goodwill to see if I could find some new pieces and found this lovely candy dish for only $5.00. For Valentines I filled it full of sweetheart candy.
I did clean up a silver tray that belonged to my grandmother. Years ago she was friends with Hugh Downs the televison reporter and he gave her this as a gift..it is engraved to her on the bottom from Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Downs
New York, N. Y.
I filled it with silvery heart shaped butter molds and some Sheffield grapefruit spoons.
I found a heart shaped cookie cutter in my collection and another larger silver tin heart mold.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday tomorrow...Super Bowl and Silver Sunday!
What a wonderful gift for your mom. I love the little hearts....so cute. Happy SS!

We just got a Goodwill! I always see alot of people going in so the other night I thought I would pop in. I didn't find anything on that trip but I will go again and see what I can find!
ReplyDeleteI loved Hugh Downs! I was thinking silver meant real silver, like heirlooms. So I never posted on this party. But I must have something silver around here somewhere!

Beautiful silver pieces, and the one from Hugh Downs is a real family treasure, I'm sure. Hope you'll stop in and enter my giveaways if you haven't yet.

Love the heart cookie cutter. Everything looks wonderful. Great Photos.
ReplyDeleteI love a good find at Goodwill. Of course I show a couple in my post today. Sometimes nothing, but other times when you score, you score big.
