It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Turkey Day is over and we spent the early afternoon in the yard putting up Christmas lights. We ran out of strands (doesn't that always happen) so will have to finish tomorrow after a trip to the store. I refused to go to a big box store today. Call me chicken, but I didn't want to fight the crowds.
Downtown Oklahoma City has come alive with the Christmas Spirit! There is so much to do in the city this season that we thought we would take advantage of the beautiful 70 degree afternoon. We headed downtown to the Myriad Botanical Gardens and Conservatory before dinner.
Located in the heart of the city the gardens now include an ice skating rink, carousel and delightful little pop up shops for holiday shoppers. There is something for everyone!
Red and pink amaryllis are blooming throughout the conservatory and I just love how beautiful they are!

Beautiful photos! Looks like a perfect day!ReplyDelete
Oh....I'm hoping to make it down there to see. Thanks for the tour!ReplyDelete
Beautiful photos...I enjoyed your son's video, he did a great job.ReplyDelete
The poinsettia tree is gorgeous as are all the ones along the walkway. I wish I could keep them alive, but they die within hours of bringing them into my house!
Have a great week, Sonia.
The conservatory is full of beauty! I love the poinsettia tree and the amaryllis. Merry Christmas, Sonia.ReplyDelete
Love the living wreath, I am going to try creating one for myself.ReplyDelete
That poinsettia tree is fabulous and I love the video your son made. Blessings... :)ReplyDelete
Some of these plants are unbelievable! How festive, too! I bet you had a ball. Love that the lights malfunction for others besides me!! ;-)ReplyDelete
Oh my word! What a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Your photos are wonderful and thank you for sharing your day with us. It is just what I needed. Outside my back porch is covered in ice and my ice melt is in the garage. I'm trying to muster up enough courage to venture out and fill a bucket to put in the mud room. This old gal doesn't want a "Slip & Fall" for Christmas. If you can, please send me a little bit of that 70 degree weather, LOL.ReplyDelete
Have a happy and fun filled weekend.
I hear you girl! I skipped the crazy shopping "sale"time this year ... it is not much of the sales anyway :) I like your idea of spending lovely afternoon enjoy the beautiful decoration. This year decide the front door decoration, I have't done much yet. I hope tomorrow my husband will help me with a tree! Beautiful pictures and very inspiring!ReplyDelete
