St Patrick's Day is almost here and I finally finished my tablescape.
These square plates and bowls from T.J. Maxx are from Portugal and were the inspiration for the table.
The placemats and napkins were purchased at J.C. Penney's at 75 % off several years ago and the color is a great match to the lighter shade of the green shamrocks.
I had purchased several tablecloths with different shades of green but they didn't look right with the softer tones in the plates. My friend even let me borrow a few of her cute shamrock tablecloths, but again they were too bright for the plates. ..so I just used my old standby white cutwork tablecloth.
I found a great pitcher with handpainted shamrocks at Goodwill. I think it looks great with daffodils from my yard. I'm so excited that something is actually blooming in my yard!
I found some little green shamrocks to decorate the tablecloth with and used simple votive candles in crystal glasses for some candlelight.
In reading about St. Patrick, I found that he used the shamrock to explain the trinity of God . I love that the shamrock has a spiritual meaning as well as the symbol for good luck.
I found this vintage picture already framed in an antique shop and thought it was perfect to add to my table. The angel has glittered wings and is being showered by shamrocks.
I hope everyone has a wonderful St. Patrick's Day filled with fun, great food and friends! I'm off to Fredericksburg to the Texas hill country to spend time with great friends, music, food and shopping!
I'm linking this week with Kathleen for the Saint Paddy's Crawl and Marty for Tabletop Tuesdays and then on Thursday for Susan's BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday.
I also found Janmary's St. Paddy's Day Carnival to link with ...so much fun all the way from Ireland!

Hi sweet friend...
ReplyDeleteOhhh...what great dishes! They make for a fabulous St. Patrick's Day table, Sonia! If I had seen those at TJ Maxx...I would have picked them up for sure! They would look great with all the yellow-green that I've used in my Spring decor in my dining room! Hehe! Anyway...I love them! And...the placemats look fabulous with them! I like your white tablecloth...it just looks so pretty with the white background of the dishes...you made a great choice, my friend! Your shamrock pitcher...gorgeous! And your sunny yellow daffodils are sooo pretty! Your table just sings of Spring, my friend!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Well Darlin', you have a great time in Fredricksburg...I'm so envious! I told you that my sister only lives about 30mins. from there. She does alot of shopping there...they have so many cute and unique shops! Have fun and enjoy, sweet girl!!!
