Antiquing in Soquel

Soquel

We love traveling and discovering places we've not been to before.   Cindy at My Romantic Home posted about a wonderful little garden/antique shop in Soquel several years ago.  I made sure I found my way over to Wisteria on
 our recent trip to California.

Wisteria is in an old home and filled with wonderful garden themed items and antiques.  In the garden there are beautiful plants and garden features for sale.
One of my favorites was this birdhouse with the copper roof.

Large archways of hanging and fragrant wisteria
greet visitors on the garden path.

The sound of water falling and trickling fountains can be heard in the background.   Pea gravel paths make that wonderful sound as you walk throughout and visit the garden rooms in the back of the property.

Blue delphiniums oh my!

I found Soquel a delightful little town.   I love the little white church in the center of town.

 All the
  the antique shops are
in walking distance to each other with the
exception of Wisteria which is just a
short drive up the main road.

The shopkeepers were friendly and very helpful
about giving information about the area.
I shopped the entire morning while
 my hubbie played golf.

I met the owner of Potager and she was so nice and allowed me to take photgraphs of  her shop.

I loved her style and enjoyed visiting with her.  She told me she lived up the coast in a farmhouse and had large flower gardens.  I can only imagine how beautiful her place
would be after seeing her shop.

I fell in love with the plate rack which was
 not for sale...sigh!

Look at the size of those garden cloches!

Great little wheelbarrow with the
 perfect  shade of green!

The back door to her shop with the biggest
 lavender plant I've ever seen!

If you are in the area, near Santa Cruz
don't miss this fun little town.  My husband grew up in
San Jose and never had been to Soquel before....go figure!

  1. Thank you so much for taking us along with you! What neat stores! The wisteria is so pretty, I wonder if mine will ever look like that!! Oh, I'd be in heaven in all of these shops and yes, I can imagine the Potager woman living on a heavenly farm! You had a much better morning than hubby I'm sure! :)

  3. As a landscape enthusiast I am always searching for unusual European garden ornaments. One of my trips led me to the country side of Italy where I fell in love with the natural feel of its gardens. I came back to the US and was trying to find a company which would offer me the same sensation as I had experienced Tuscany. A friend told me about Authentic Provence, the moment I stepped into their showroom I was taken aback in awe. Their exquisite collection of French and Italian antiques were exactly what I was looking for to complement my garden. Now my garden is the show piece, through Authentic Provence's unique garden ornaments. I am now encompassed by the true Tuscan lifestyle. Visit them at www.authenticprovence.com and you will find what you are seeking.
