Blue and white china just makes me happy!
My mother has an extensive collection she purchased while living in Japan and from her travels overseas.
When she downsized she gave me about half of her collection which I was pleased to accept.
She purchased a set of 'Liberty' Staffordshire while living in Hawaii...she actually found them in a thrift store in Honolulu!
I had a Spring tea for my neighbors several years ago using her pieces mixed with some of the teapots she purchased in Japan. Each teapot held a different flavor of tea. Everyone loved sampling new tea flavors as well as the standard fare.
Yellow flowers or accessories are the perfect compliment to blue and white tables and add a pop of color. I found this pear topiary on clearance and knew it would be perfect with my dishes. I have used it on a breakfast and dinner table.
I love blue, white and yellow together in this french

I set another blue and white table on a cold winter's day. Gloomy days make me realize I need some sunshine at my breakfast table.
I found an adorable English transferware teapot on sale and can't wait to create another tablescape around it. I don't have time to play with dishes today but thought I'd share some
sunshine from my previous tables.

ReplyDeleteI was thrilled when I saw your setting of Liberty Blue Dishes. My husband and I have been collecting these dishes for several years. I have enough for a place setting of 12 and we have given a 10 piece place setting to each of our 2 daughters...I just love these dishes.
Your combination of yellow and blue is gorgeous. Glad I stopped by.

Your dishes are just beautiful. I love the blue and white table setting and then the yellow just brings out the blue even more. Your table linens are gorgeous! Even the glasses of orange juice pop against the blue!! Wonderful job!

Your Liberty Blue Collection is just beautiful. Blue and White always makes a stunning presentation. Love your linens. I'm not far from Wimberly. I might have to make a trip out there sometime!
ReplyDeleteWimberly is one of my favorite little towns to visit when we go to Texas...I used to live in Austin. Love Texas hill country. Two stores I shopped at : Chic-a-dees and Blue Willow. Don't know if they are still there as it's been 2 years since I visited.
DeleteOoh, I absolutely love toile. what a beautiful table.

ReplyDeleteYour tablescapes are beautiful--I just love blue and white with yellow! That's my kitchen. I just wanted to let you know that my red and white transferware teapot was found at GW for $5. I don't often find bargains like that so I'm proud of it! I think it was never used.
ReplyDeleteScrolling down your blog, your cottage for your vacation looks like such a perfect spot for rest! Enjoy! And your mention of wallpaper "coming back" is the third I've heard about that this week! Stay tuned we all think! Have a good week and thanks for visiting my blog.
I love your blue and yellow, so pretty! I would have been happy to accept those dishes too!
ReplyDeleteI don't like wallpaper, never again! Byt I have no problem with brass and don't know why people spray it with ORB, which to me looks black! :)
To each his own!
I agree Kathleen...I bought my house in the age of wallpaper..we have stripped almost all the rooms..I laugh and say..by the time we get it all stripped it will be in style again! I will just leave them painted though and use accessories and fabric for color!
DeleteNoticed the other day you changed your header - love that china, and then I saw the blue and white...............have got to stop reading these blogs, my space in the garage is getting smaller and smaller. Now I'm hooked on all your lovely place mats and tablescloths.
ReplyDeleteWeather is sunny, people are already filling up hotels, motels. PB is putting up all the stuff they put up for the Tournament - all in anticipation of your arrival!
So excited....and I'm sure we will find some lovely placemats along the way!!
DeleteYour blue and white transferware is gorgeous and I love, love it with that yummy yellow. The French inspired tablescape is my favorite. Wow! Great table linens, plates...great everything!
