We have just returned from our California coastal vacation and what a fabulous time we had! We enjoyed having the opportunity to meet new friends that we met through blogging.
Their hospitality and
friendship were truly a blessing!

I have been yearning for Spring flowers and
while I still have a couple of months to wait here
at home, our trip satisfies my need to
be around bloomers in February.

Apple Valley Farm is an beautiful place and located in San Luis Obispo. The gift shop and restaurant are housed in a beautiful Victorian styled lady with an old fashioned porch with gingerbread trim. Many places to sit and relax welcome you to enjoy the cottage garden and courtyard.
I love this little corner with the garden chess set surrounded by angel trumpets. I'm going to try to grow these this year.
Don't you love this porch?
Potted bloomers edge the walkways.
Garden goodies for sale out on the porch.
Gazebo ...on my wish list!!
Mass plantings of ornamental kale...I can even grow this in Oklahoma!
Fuchsias thrive in the cool coastal climate...I can't grow these in Oklahoma.
The gift shop is filled with three stories of beautiful home and garden gifts and well worth a visit.
Angel trumpet flowers looking down at purple lobelia and sweet alyssum.
Even the parking lot is pretty!
There is also an adjoining inn with rooms decorated in country French and English styles...
and yes... I loved my visit!

Oh, Sonia! You must have been in garden heaven. What a great pick me up for this time of year! The gift shop is so lovely! I would love to grow ornamental kale...I have never seen it look so pretty! I am excited for spring and I know you are, too! Thanks for the tour and I'm so glad you had a good time!

I'm so glad that you had a great trip. The mass plantings of Kale are fantastic. I loved the grouping on the corner of the bed. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteHey Sonia. I have grown Angels Trumpets for several years. I bought mine at TLC. They seem to grow better in a pot and like lots of fertilizer. Your trips looks heavenly. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Apple Farm was a hit! We're going down the week of the 21 for four days at the Kon Tiki for some serious oceanfront relaxation! Can't wait to see what else you post!

Everything in there is beautiful, all those blooms are amazing, although i love the ornamental cabbage most. I also love the design of the house, oh how so lovely to be in there. Even the avocado seedling is made to be an ornamental, haha!

ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun! Happy Pink Saturday! ~Diane (I am #16)
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Sonia Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful time you had. Love seeing the flowers, and yes I imagine it was quite a shock from Oklahoma weather right now. (I am from Enid and my folks are cold and we are having 80 degree weather here in the Phoenix desert.)
Loved the kale planting, that is gorgeous for sure. The flowers in pots work best for our warmer climates, as we can move them when necessary. I have done that as well here. Loved seeing the gazebo and the porch is TDF. So pretty and peaceful. Love that flag flying in the breeze as well. SO pretty there. I bet you hated to go back home. How is the weather today? I am off to read a book by the pool and soak up a few rays.
Have a glorious weekend sweetie. Thanks for taking me along on your visit. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
