Playing with Dishes

I love this season and unpacking my Christmas dishes is always fun!   This year I found a black and white runner at Kirklands to coordinate with my Mud Pie plates in the dining room.

I decided to make a new centerpiece with things I had on hand.  I purchased the feather trees several years ago and haven't really used them much but I thought they would make a new centerpiece.  I used my dough bowl, added seasonal garlands, ornaments and a black and
white gingham bow.  It's fun and unique.

My mother gave me the poinsettia dishes years ago and I chose them to set the table for my son's birthday dinner.

Mom has enjoyed helping me decorate our home for the holidays this year.  Now that she lives here we are not traveling to Florida for the holidays.  I do miss the Florida coast this time of year but it's nice to be home for the holidays and I'm decorating nearly
 every room in the house.

I hope to be finished with decorating and cleaning the house top to bottom this weekend.

Hope you all are enjoying the holidays and decorating your homes.  I love visiting and getting inspiration.

Merry Christmas!

Decking the Halls

I finished the tree yesterday and today I set our Christmas table.
I love leaving the dining table set during the Christmas season as it encourages us to eat more of our meals in the dining room.

I purchased this set of dishes years ago at Target and they are some of my very favorites.   Designed by Tracey Porter these dishes are heavy and great for my family.

A Tartan tablecloth cozies up the table and I placed some silks and a candle in my dough bowl for an easy centerpiece.

The red goblets are my go to stemware this time of year.  We purchased them at an antique shop in Grapevine, although the goblets are not vintage.

I still have a few more things to decorate but I was able to get so much done this weekend.
How's your decorating going?

Wishing you all a very
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

I can't believe Christmas Eve is here and we just finished opening presents and enjoying our candlelight dinner.

Just sat down for a minute to share my Christmas table centerpiece.

Merry Christmas and I'll see you next year!
