St Patrick's Day Honeypot

Spring is almost here and that means getting on the green and setting fresh new tables.  I've already been planning my Easter tablescapes but since we are still in March and Kathleen is having her 7th Annual Blog Crawl I thought I better get busy setting a table in green. 

It's always fun participating and Kathleen won't let us get by with re-reruns, so we should all see some

 great new tables.

I have been collecting pieces for several years and since I don't have a budget for Belleck china I try to add pieces that remind of the Belleck pieces I have admired.

This honeypot is my newest find, I actually passed it by when I first saw it but went back to the antique mall  since it matches the salt and pepper set I already have.  It is in perfect condition and is just so sweet. 

The teapot is a very special to me since one of my best friends surprised me with it several years ago. I just love the luster finish and the size is perfect.  

The shamrock pieces are all marked 'occupied Japan'

and are considerably more reasonably priced than Belleck.  

My dishes are a collection of Pier One, Bordalla pinheiro luncheon plates and bowls also collected over several years.

I layered them on top of twig chargers and added a little cabbage in each bowl.  

   

I enjoy decorating for the seasons and so glad that Kathleen inspires us to share our St. Patrick's Day 

tables and vignettes by hosting the Crawl each year.

Shamrocks & Blessings

Everyone here is getting ready for Spring break.  It hasn't felt much like spring lately but tomorrow we are supposed to get to up 75 degrees!

What a blessing it will be to get out in the garden again.

I've been changing my vignettes in my little hutch

 for Saint Patrick's Day and pulled out one of my

 favorite teapots to put on display.

I've shared this teapot before and it was a

 special gift  from one of my best friends.

Her friendship is a blessing to me!   

She knew I had been admiring Belleek  but I just 

couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a teapot.

She found this one ebay and I adore it.

It's vintage and Japanese.

I was shopping a few months ago in an antique mall and found this adorable salt and pepper for a great price.   It appears to have been made around the same time as the teapot.  The markings say 

'occupied Japan.'  

I think they look good together and I hope to continue finding more pieces to add to my little collection.  

I've got more to spring decorating to do and will get
 out the rest of my bunnies,  but I'm glad 

to get a little head start before my garden

 beckons me outdoors.

Shades of Green & St Patrick's Day

Spring is popping out all over in Oklahoma.  I love this time of year as there are so many shades of green in the landscape.  The color of my fescue grass is the prettiest spring green as we have cool temperatures and 

 more rain.  St. Patrick's Day and Easter are just around the corner!

In preparation of Kathleen's St. Patrick's Day Blog Crawl I put together a table with my favorite shades of green.  Kathleen said no re-runs this year so I gathered my green dishes and went to work on my little kitchen table.

My best friend sent me this beautiful teapot as a gift several years ago and I just treasure it!

I love the luster finish and the hand painted shamrocks.

The only thing new I purchased for this table was the potted shamrock.  I spent  a whopping $3.99 at the grocery store and the rest I had on hand.

I did start with a tablecloth I purchased last year on sale after St. Patrick's Day.   This shade of green is a little bright but I decided 

I could tone it down with other 
shades of green.   

I purchased the twig chargers from Pier One last fall.  I love the natural element they bring to the table.  They are the perfect beginning to a garden or Easter table too!

I layered the lime green dinner plates I purchased at T.J. Max a few years ago.  The embossed design is so pretty.

The shamrock plates are from Portugal and I was so pleased to find them.   I decided to layer them between the lime green dinner and salad plate for new and fresh look. 
  Remembering the no re-runs rule! 

I finished layering with the matching mugs and added my embroidered linen napkins.   They are not irish linen but I enjoy them as they were given to me by my mother and have my maiden name initial on the edge.  

So I've got my green on and
