Glimpse of Spring!

What a long brutal winter we have had!  I know many of us, especially the gardeners are counting
the days until we can get out in our gardens.

The wind is howling right now and it's suppose to be 15 degrees tonight.  Really?  Ice and sleet too!
I've been keeping myself busy and enjoyed creating a fun springtime birthday cake for a
 friend last week.

I decorated the cake with pretty pink sweetheart roses and Belles of Ireland.
I found the little pinwheels at Michaels.

Just thought I'd share a
glimpse of spring!

  1. What a pretty cake! How lucky your friend is! The last two weeks...I thought spring was here! But today winter returned. My Mom and I were out shopping this afternoon. I needed a new outfit for an interview. Yuck...don't even ask. We'll see if it turns into anything. Anyway..it was miserable out and we could not believe we were out in it instead of at home where we prefer to be.

  3. It's too pretty to even think about eating! Yes, I'm so ready for spring. Freezing here again tonight, so I'm headed out to the garden to wrap my newly planted geraniums in a cozy blanket.

  5. The cake is pretty and I like the bells of Ireland. I can't wait for spring. I have been ordering some shrubs for the yard. Having problems deciding what to buy for our front walkway though.
