My favorite little hutch has just gone through it's spring transformation. If you follow my blog you have seen this hutch decorated for Christmas, fall and spring.
Originally this garland/swag was to go on my front porch over the dining room window but a sweet little bird decided to build her nest in my spring wreath right by the front door.
I decided that trying to hang this swag would only traumatize my little resident mom so I thought I would just place it on the top of my hutch and enjoy it indoors.

I saw a beautiful "inspiration" swag while out shopping and decided to make one. Michaels had all their spring flowers on sale for 40% off and I already had the twig vine. I added a silk forsythia vine,
purple hydrangeas and some greenery.
I did have a few dried hydrangeas left over from my garden and also placed them in the arrangement. The carrots were a fun addition and echo the carrot handle on my favorite teapot.

textured and natural feel.
The hutch is filled with things I love and have collected over the years. Bunnies, birds and even a frog find their way on a shelf. Each spring I bring out my collection and tweak it here and there with something new and some years I just rearrange things.
This is my Easter teapot...Fitz and Floyd and so beautiful! It once belonged to a friend's mother and she gave it to me knowing I would cherish it.
These two mischievous bunnies are trying to hide from Mr. McGregor I'm sure. They look guilty don't they...trying to steal a meal of carrots and cabbage!
The bunny topiary I have had for years and always finds a spot in the hutch.
This egg filled "cloche" below started out being part of an something else ...I'm not even sure what. I purchased it at a thrift store for 25 cents along with the clear candleholder base. I just turned it upside down and found a base to fit and made my own custom cloche. Cost less than a $1!
that was funny. She is kind of cute!
I would love to have more of this
majolica pattern. This little "cloche"
is a little wire pot
turned upside down
protecting a little nest.

My cabbage Pinheiro dishes are used throughout the season for many table settings. I definitely would love to have
more coordinating pieces.
more coordinating pieces.
My Spring hutch is completed and now I can turn my attention to some gardening chores. Spring is here in a big way in Oklahoma. I am grateful for all the rain we received

ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job on the swag!! Thanks for inspiring me to take out my honey pots. I didn't think to add them to my Spring decor.
ReplyDeleteLove it all especially the bunnies and cabbage plates.

Your hutch is definitely "blooming". I think it is wonderful that you change it for the seasons. That is a very sweet story about the mother bird - it reminds me of the book that I always have read to my children and grandchildren, "The Best Nest". Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteYour hutch looks very pretty and very springy!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the details.
hugs
Sissie
so cute, that carrot garland is adorable~
ReplyDeleteHi sonia, your hutch decor turned out darling! I love the whimsey of the carrots! The cabbage dishes and tea set are wonderful! I also love the birds and vintage beehive pots! I have a new linky party and would love for you to share this! It opens at 4 mst today.

Sonia, you certainly have a versatile hutch that you can decorate all year. Love all your Easter decor and especially the F&F bunny. Love it all and thanks for stopping by my blog. I love F&F too.
ReplyDeleteI truly love what you did! The swag along the edge with the bird house, veges and forsythia is done to perfection! I love the Fitz and Floyd pieces! All of your pieces are great and you did a wonderful job of displaying them!
ReplyDeleteLove your spring swag, the carrots are a great touch-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteThis just took my breath away! I have the cabbage plates and this gave me inspiration. I love the addition of carrots to the garland. The F&F bunny is very special.
ReplyDeleteYour Easter garland is a work of art, as is the whole hutch collection and display. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty spring hutch...the frog is precious...my sister has always been afraid of frogs and toads, too...we used to chase her with them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully decorated hutch for Easter and spring! I love the cabbage plates but my favorite is the Fitch and Floyd bunny teapot, so pretty. The swag is looks fantastic!...Christine
ReplyDeleteI think part of what makes this look so great is that the items have been collected over time. It has a feel to it that the pieces included are pieces that have been well-loved and worn for awhile. Those make the best vignettes! Very nice!!!
ReplyDeleteCabbage plates, bunnies, honey pots ~ all some of my favorite things. I always enjoy seeing your hutch change with the seasons.
ReplyDeleteLove the Easter garland, and your Fitz and Floyd is lovely! I am not fond of frogs, but that one is cute! Your honey pots are "sweet", and I love Bordallo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these pretty things at Let's Dish, Sonia!
Sonia,
ReplyDeleteStunning! It looks like it could be a display in a beautiful store!!
So spring- like and totally delightful!!
I am playing catch up...
Hugs,
Deb

I wish I had a hutch to decorate for Easter, yours is so fun. I love the cabbage plates, I really need to think about getting some because they are so cute this time of year! Love your Spring decor!
ReplyDeleteCute idea. Love the cabbage plates.
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful tour through your pretty hutch. I always have a nest on or near my front door, and last spring I was able to photograph the nest, eggs and baby birds for the entire season--I even saw them take off! Your bunny teapot is very special. Enjoy your goodies! Linda
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely Hutch! You would be a great designer for window displays! Just perfect...
ReplyDeleteHim just in love with your darling hutch display! Love all of the rabbits and just how you've put everything together.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Lovely display, Sonia!
ReplyDeleteSonia, Your hutch is decorated so sweet for Easter and spring! The garland you made adds such a nice touch- especially with those cute carrots. Everything you used on the shelves just goes together so well. Like you, I wish I had some more cabbage plates and accessories. I see various patterns, but never any that match mine exactly. I guess a subtle difference would be okay; that seems to be my only alternative. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia,
ReplyDeleteIt's just the cutest decorated Easter-Spring hutch I've ever seen!
Dee
