When we were newlyweds we lived in Austin and I fell in love with the Texas Hill Country. Bluebonnets and wildflowers edge the roadways and cover the landscape and we always enjoy driving through the countryside.
Over the years we have enjoyed returning to Austin and discovering new towns and places out in
the hill country.
One of our favorite places to visit is
Wildseed Farm. We discovered this wonderful seed farm and nursery several years ago and this year our trip happened to coincide with the
blooming season.
Wildseed Farm grows fields of flowers and
sells their seeds in the beautiful gift shop.

We just visited this wonderful place in April. I could spend a whole day here!!! I bought some of the red poppy seeds to plant in the fall. Wish me luck with them.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a wonderful place, Sonia! After seeing this post, I want to turn my entire back yard into a larkspur field. Oh, my!! How lucky you were to live in Austin - I hear it is a fantastic place.
ReplyDeleteOh you did go to the Wild Seed Farm! I am dying to go there. My dad is a Master Gardener and his group just went last week. He lives maybe 45 minutes from there and he talks about it frequently. Will have to make that trip soon. :)
ReplyDeleteLaura Bush Petunias are my fav. They've self-seeded in a whole new area here. Classy, just like their namesake.
ReplyDeleteThis is a favorite for me too. Glad you had a wonderful trip. If you missed my post on the Texas Hill Country, stop back by. It think you'll like it. Posted April 25 - Spring in the Texas Hill Country. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteI. Love. Austin. Just love it. My husband had a fellowship to the Harry Ransom Library at UT and we were lucky enough to live there for a while. I wish that I would have known about this seed farm when we were there because I would certainly have paid it a visit. Lovely photos. Thanks for sharing. I am making note of this in case we ever get back.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! A very neat place to visit. Wish I lived closer.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about Fredericksburg, Texas, lately, that now I really want to visit it soon! I'd love to see this wildflower farm. I am a new resident of Colorado and I have so much to learn about what to plant in this high desert area and deer and rabbit resistant plants. I have a feeling many wildflowers would fit the bill!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing; I've never been to Texas.
ReplyDeleteNext time I find myself in the area, I'll be sure to drop in. Your photos are so pretty! xo marlis
ReplyDeleteI've always told Sweet Mister that we should think about moving to the Texas Hill Country. It's a very special spot on God's sweet Earth. Thanks for taking us along. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI was in Fredericksburg about three years ago and had a fabulous time. I wish I had known about this seed farm as I would have definitely visited.
ReplyDeleteHappy to have you at "Oh, the PLACES I've been!"

Sonia, I have never been to Texas but when I think of that state I do think of wildflowers, I think because of Lady Bird Johnson's efforts! I would love to see Texas, and I'm putting this on my "List" that we are compiling for the day when my hubby finally retires! Thank you for the tour! Linda
