My Favorite Post-Pretty in Pink Baby Shower

This is one of my favorite posts from earlier this year...probably because the occasion was the birth of my best friend's baby girl...the best reason  for a celebration!

We are also celebrating Chari's Sunday Favorites Birthday..hard to believe it's already been a year!

Happy Blog B-D Chari!!!

I just have to share my baby shower table.  My best friend had a precious baby girl and I've been looking forward to hosting her shower for months!  I played with crystal, china and silver until I was pleased with the arrangement.
(These photos are prior to food placement)

I started with an antique lace tablecloth over a peachy pink undercloth.  I chose pink sweetheart roses for the flower vases.  I love how dainty they are mixed with a few lime green button mums from a grocery store bouquet.  I arranged three bouquets for less than $20.

A friend of mine made these adorable  flowerpot "babies" to decorate her baby shower table and then passed them along to me.  Thanks Linda!  I think  they are the cutest...all I had to add was baby hats which the baby will be able to wear later this summer.

Closer views

She used stryofoam balls on wooden dowels and covered the little heads with panty hose.  I love the sweet little faces she drew and the stick on eyes are fun.   One baby  is a red-head and the other is a blonde!

I used voitive candles surronded by valentine heart candies in my mom's crystal stemware as
candleholders.

I also used ivory tapers on either side of the cake plate.

Faux pearl bracelets served as candle rings on my grandmother's milk glass candlesticks as they needed a little something special.

My mother-in-law's Westmoreland sterling silverware was perfect for this table.

I used this tea set with sweet little  pink flowers to serve spiced tea to my guests.

I ordered the Ribbon cake from a wonderful bakery called Raspberries 'n Creme.  They  make the most delicious cakes..this one has a layer of vanilla and  chocolate with a bavarian creme center sprinkled with strawberries.  They finish  the cake with pink whipped creme icing and fresh flowers. (let's not count these calories)

These adorable cookies were baked by Ruth's Sweet Justice, another specialty bakery.  Not only are they pretty they were good too!  She makes bottles, booties,  and baby buggies in the color of the baby's nursery bedding.

The silver trays for the cookies were from the Dollar Tree..I wanted silver on the side table and  used the trays in my three-tiered server.  I just added a big pink bow to dress up my plain black server.

I sent my hubby into the attic to find my antique baby buggy to put her presents in.

A view of the side table and the baby shower tree.  I decided to leave my Christmas tree up for a few weeks and just redecorate it for the baby shower.  I love Christmas trees and it made the dining room more festive.   It was the perfect spot to put the presents as guest arrived.

I took paper doilies and just made simple tussie mussies and used a diaper pin to accessorize them.  I found  pink gingham party favor boxes  at the Dollar Tree and filled them with valentine heart
candies.

I added a few pink and silver heart ornaments and all for less than $10.   Another sweet friend Tina gave me the pink and brown ribbon to make the topper bow. I'm debating on whether to leave it up and decorate it for Valentines, Madri Gras and St. Patty's Day.  Any opinions?  Is that crazy?

The buffet table ... I served croissants filled with homemade chicken salad,  a  fruit and vegetable tray with dip (thanks Amber!)  We also had a herbed pasta salad and flavored teas.  The cake and cookies were accompained with assorted chocolate candies.

Finally, the punch table was decorated with a cutwork lace tablecloth and my grandmother's milk glass punch bowl set.  I didn't have enough cups but thank goodness for Ebay, I was able to find another  set of cups and saucers to add to my collection.

Silk lilies of  the valley with little pink flowers and a bow complete the table along with a raspberry candle.

The punch was a mixture of passion fruit juice, ginger ale,  fresh strawberries and raspberry sherbert...but it wasn't as sweet as....

Our precious little baby girl who arrived three weeks early and weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz and 18.5 inches long.   Early predictions are she is a redhead just like her beautiful mother!

Thanks for visiting my table today and sharing our joyous occasion.  This week  I'm joining Tabletop Tuesday with Barb at Grits and Glamour ,  Tablescape Thursday at Susan's
Between Naps on the Porch and Pink Saturday at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound.    Make sure you join in all the fun!
