Feathered Friends Party

Thanks to our hostess Gina at Shabby Chic Cottage for having a Feathered Friends Party! What a cute and fun idea to share our birdy accessories. I love birdhouses and birdcages and have collected them for many years. This birdcage is my favorite....


I bought it in Mexico in the late 1970's and have enjoyed using it over the years in many different rooms of my home. I added some silk morning glories to the top just to give it more color. I don't leave it outside because it is wood and metal and I want to keep it out of the weather, but occassionally I'll take it outside just for special tablesettings, etc. I just love it and someday when I have a sunroom it will have it's own special place, but for now it gets displayed periodically.

    Hi Sonia! It's so nice when you get to post. I'm guessing that you've been very busy.

    Can you even believe the rain we've been having? I think this is the prettiest August in the 20 years that we've lived here. Our pond actually over-flowed this morning. It's just beautiful and green. :)

    Your birdcage is really special. I can see why you love it.

    I can see from the detail on your birdcage why you'd want to keep it inside! Bringing it outdoors to decorate for special occasions is a fun way to share it.

    Hello my friend...long time no see! How are you doing? I'm so glad that I came by for a visit...Girlfriend, this birdcage is simply magnificent! It definitely is the palace of all bird palaces! It's gorgeous...I've never seen one so intricate and with this shape! I bet it does make for a fabulous table setting! Thank you for sharing it with us today...what a treat!!!
