Lacecap hydrangea-gorgeous flowers -'Frau Reiko' variety. This hydrangea will grow to a height of 5 feet and is hardy to Zone 4 in a shady location. I just love the white edging around each flower. One of the prettiest plants in my yard!
The 'Black Knight' delphinium-such a beautiful blue flower spike....started blooming about the first of June.
Yellow yarrow...I love cutting this and using in arrangements...lasts for weeks and great for drying.
Stella de oro-easy to grow and such a great early bloomer!
Butterfly bush-a bargain for $1.00 at the end of the season last year....blooms and blooms and of course butterflies of all varieties flock to it all summer. The hummingbirds love it too!
A view of my sunny border and my favorite Spanish lavender -I keep deadheading for more blooms. I dry the old blooms and make lavender potpourri .
I love this combination...bright red impatients and lime green foliage from the pineapple sage...in a few months the sage will bloom and the hummingbirds will be fighting over the blossoms. Such a great bloomer in the fall of the year in Oklahoma, until then I enjoy the foliage!

Sonia,
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your garden! Everything is beautiful and HUGE!! I love to see what things look like other than in the pot at the garden centers. The yarrow, for example is just gorgeous, and I didn't know it dried so well. I am also in love with the lace cap hydrangea~you are right, the white edge is very pretty! I have also wanted to try to grow delphinium. I have heard it is the closest to blue that you can get in a flower.
Finally...can you ship me over some of that lavender potpourri??? :-)
xoxo
Jane
Gorgeous garden. I love the Lacecap! Wish we had a couple of those!
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday Sonia! You have many beautiful June blooms! I love the hydrangea... and your butterfly bush!! Thanks for sharing your photos.~ Susan
ReplyDeleteYour cut yarrow wouldn't last for weeks at my house. Not even hours. My cat Bonnie eats blooms straight to the stem. Unfortunate, for I love my garden. Oklahoma, heh? I grew up there. My daughters and sons-in-law live in the Tulsa area. We're from Norman.

What a beautiful garden you have! I love hydrangeas, but they won't grow here in Florida. Homemade potpourri? Heavenly!
